What is a community league?

A community league is a volunteer (not-for-profit) organization that is formed to meet the unique needs and interests of residents within a geographic area.

What do we do?

  • Community Leagues speak on behalf of all residents within the League's boundaries.

  • They create an inclusive sense of community between neighbours.

  • Provide recreational and social programs.

  • Develop amenities within their communities.

  • Represent their community's interests to government and other organizations.

The BLCL board is busy raising funds to support the development of permanent structures, hosting events, providing community programs, and so much more.

What we can't do

We understand the importance of accessible infrastructure like schools and libraries, but those are not spearheaded by the community league. We are able to provide input to the government in charge of such developments, but it is not up to us to build them.

We are also not responsible for HOAs or their operations. Developers created the HOAs for their communities and pass governance onto the residents after a certain percentage of the community's development has been completed.
