Swim at the new Coronation Park!
The Big Lake Community League Board is excited to announce community swimming for annual membership holders has moved from Jasper Place Leisure Centre to the Peter Hemingway Aquatic Centre , located at the new Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre. This change is in effect as of February 14, 2026. With the location change, also comes with a date and time change. The free swimming for members is now on Saturdays from 5pm-7pm. Soccer Registration NOW OPEN
The outdoor soccer season is almost here! EMSA West opened up community league registrations on February 2nd, so register today ! Teams hope to have around 10 children, and if our community does not have enough players registered, players may be placed with a neighbouring community team (or vice versa). We are hoping to gain players for a mixed U4 team (children born in 2022), a mixed U5 team (children born in 2021), and a mixed U7 team (children born in 2019 and 2020). Sprea

Be safe this winter - stay off the storm ponds
The communities of Big Lake are home to a few stormwater ponds. They are lovely additions to our naturalized areas, but they are not meant for recreational use, especially in the winter. Stormwater ponds are NOT safe to walk, skate, toboggan, or play on. Stormwater ponds are engineered to collect and move melting snow and ice from streets and sidewalks, which often include salt and other ice melt products, making the ice unpredictable and dangerous . Snow Angels Program
If you or anyone you know in Big Lake needs help clearing ice and snow from your sidewalk this winter season, contact the community league to ask for a weather-resistant sign to place in your front yard. Volunteer as a Snow Angel Become a Snow Angel to someone in your neighbourhood who could use help removing snow and ice from their walk.
