The Big Lake Community League Board is excited to announce community swimming for annual membership holders has moved from Jasper Place Leisure Centre to the Peter Hemingway Aquatic Centre , located at the new Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre. The outdoor soccer season is almost here! EMSA West opened up community league registrations on February 2nd, so register today ! Teams hope to have around 10 children, and if our community does not have enough players registered, players may be placed with a neighbouring community team (or vice versa). The communities of Big Lake are home to a few stormwater ponds. They are lovely additions to our naturalized areas, but they are not meant for recreational use, especially in the winter. Stormwater ponds are NOT safe to walk, skate, toboggan, or play on.   Stormwater ponds are engineered to collect and move melting snow and ice from streets and sidewalks, which often include salt and other ice melt products, making the ice unpredictable and dangerous . Volunteer as a Snow Angel Become a Snow Angel to someone in your neighbourhood who could use help removing snow and ice from their walk.
